Why pages on this site aren't formatting correctly
All of the pages on this site (apart from this one) are formatted using CSS2
Therefore, in order to view the pages on this site correctly, you must have a browser that supports CSS2
However, you are perfectly welcome to continue to view this site without CSS. In some cases (such as if you are using a hand-held or text-only browser), this site may only be viewable without CSS. This is perfectly fine, as I designed the site to be easily usable without CSS
Anyway... I'm going to recommend some browsers anyway, in order to give you the option of viewing this site to its fullest extent. The pages on this site display correctly in all of the browsers below, as well as Lynx (a text-only browser)
- Firefox
- My personal favourite. Firefox is an open-source browser, available for for
Windows systems, Linux, and Macs in a huge variety of languages. Many extensions
and themes are available free of charge. It also obeys web standards to an extraordinary extent, meaning that it displays pages as they were meant to be displayed. It also supports tabbed browsing
- Netscape Browser. This is a fairly standards-compliant browser. It also supports tabbed browsing, and is available for Windows systems, in Englisg only (as far as I can tell - feel free to corrent me on that one)
- Opera. Opera is reasonably standards conpliant, and also supports tabbed browsing. For the free version, however, you do need to put up with a banner ad in the corner, which can get irritating at times. It is available for Windowa, MacOS, and *nix-based systems (as well as few others), and a handheld version is also available
- Internet Explorer 6. Internet Explorer is quite possivly the worst browser I know. Although it does support CSS2, it suffers from some major bugs, which take ages to work around. It also does not comply to web standards in a number of areas. It does not support tabbed browing, and is notoriously insecure (despite recent updates). It is available for Windows only (although Mac verion does exist), and isn't the easier browser to use. Having said that, it is one of the most popular browsers out there (probably because it is supplied free with all Windows operating systems).
